Role Overview
As the Team Leader – Meetings & Events CoE – Venue Sourcing, you will play a crucial role in driving the strategy and operations of our Meetings & Events (M&E) function. This leadership role requires you to manage the Venue Sourcing and Attendee Management team based in India, promote collaboration across teams, and foster an environment for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
People Management:
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, providing feedback on performance and creating development plans for direct reports.
- Encourage a positive and open work environment that improves quality of work life and drives a strong customer focus mindset.
- Oversee people-related systems such as vacation approvals, payroll, and performance tracking.
Stakeholder Relationships & Strategy:
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, capturing feedback to align strategies.
- Represent the "Voice of the Customer" in leadership discussions, influencing decisions on innovative solutions and partnerships.
- Collaborate with other functional departments to resolve problems and remove obstacles.
Process and Reporting:
- Oversee process governance, project delivery, and reporting for the team.
- Maintain accurate tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Work with leadership to analyze operational metrics, ensuring profitability and meeting business objectives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Educational Qualification: College degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience:
- 15+ years in Meetings & Events, Business Travel, or related industries.
- 3-4 years of people management experience in a global, diverse, and matrixed organization (remote team management experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of M&E technologies (e.g., Cvent) and their application in strategic meetings programs is preferred.
- Experience in leading customer programs or consulting projects within an enterprise environment.
- Skills:
- Strong business communication skills in English.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently with minimal guidance.
- Ability to travel as required (by airplane, boat, rail, or car).
